Share the pet and coat condition
Provide species, breed or coat type, age, temperament, matting, skin concerns and handling sensitivities. This helps distinguish a routine groom from work that may need extra time or a different approach.
Define included tasks and add-ons
Ask whether bathing, drying, trimming, nails, ears and other tasks are included. Require approval before optional treatments or matting surcharges are added.
Agree on handling and incident contact
Explain relevant medical or behavioural concerns and ask how the provider responds if the pet becomes distressed or an incident occurs. Confirm pickup timing and what record is provided afterward.
Describe the requested grooming scope
