Compare the repair scope, not only the quote total.
A workshop estimate is meaningful only when diagnosis, parts specification, labour and warranty assumptions are clear.
1. Start with diagnosis
Describe the symptom and ask whether diagnostic charges are separate or credited toward the repair.
2. Compare parts like-for-like
Original, OEM-equivalent, reconditioned and used parts are not interchangeable price comparisons. Ask exactly what part is quoted.
3. Confirm warranty
Ask what warranty applies to labour and parts, and what happens if the same symptom returns after repair.
