Write the care brief first
State child age, hours, meals, naps, transport, bathing, homework or other expected duties. Separate essential duties from optional household help so both sides understand the arrangement.
Check the caregiver and handover
Ask what identity, experience, references or checks are available for the arrangement. Before the first session, explain routines, allergies, medicines, emergency contacts and who is authorised to collect the child.
Agree on communication and exceptions
